Oi! I'm Fabio Borges, a Brazilian collage artist based in Sydney, Australia.

I first started experimenting with collage in my childhood. I spent hours creating juxtaposition images, mixing my personal photos and world with the world of famous people I cut out from the pages of magazines. As I grew older, I realised that collage was my way of processing life around me.

Through the colourful and boundless universe of collage, I found the perfect contemplative and healing practice – something bright and fun to share and help me develop personal and spiritual awareness.

By practising what Buddhism calls "Dharma Art", I found a way to become more mindful of my body and feelings and befriend my shadows.

Every element in my artwork starts from a set intention that comes from deep contemplation. It begins with my morning swim, meditation, breath work time, or tarot reading. And with that, collage became a sacred ritual.

My inner world is expressed by a combination of digital and analogue collages, markers, scratching tools, and gold leaves. You'll find animals, toys and cartoon characters who have an active voice in the scene. The result can be confrontational yet delightful, full of irony and playfulness.
